One question we get asked time and time again is "what does besq" stand for.
Finally, the mystery is unveiled...
Pronounced bess-queue the concept behind this intriguing (albeit somewhat meaningless) word was conjured up in the quixotic imagination of a talented graphic designer friend of ours (Jaymi Warnock - Lawrence & Pierce, Nottingham).
He took the word arabesque which has numerous artistic meanings and references (*see below) and extracted the middle four letters to form besq.
Being visual folk, there was a simplicity and symmetry to the way the word appears that captured perfectly all that we set out to acheive.
Over the years we contemplated changing the name to something...well, easier to pronounce, after all, first impressions are important and most people seemed to be confused by this unfamiliar term. However, the name stuck and as our reputation grew so did our bond with the word besq.
We hope you like it, and more importantly will remember besq whenever you think of Video and DVD production.
* arabesque;
